Un Crepe?

Tonight A History Of will play its first stop of the mini tour in the lovely city of Montreal. These three shows will be our last with the merciless Andrew Gordon. Andrew was there from the beginning, writing songs, recordig and playing shows. Its going to be sad when we drive back next Monday without him. He and Gill have a really nice set up here in Montreal. Bon Chance, mes amis.

We saw Radiohead last night.  A giant world competition of fireworks was underway and lighting up the sky over the park as Radiohead were playing. Le sigh.

Talk to you soon,
Noel & A History Of

6015 Premiere, Sappy, and TMA

A few carloads of the gang went down to Sappy today to check out the first public screening of 6015

Holy. You're in for a treat.

Also, The Memories Attack played as a two piece to close out the afternoon, and were absolutely stunning.  Chris played the closing track off of their upcoming release, and it brought the house down.

The Memories Attack record will be a label split between San Francisco label tUMULt and Noyes.  The album should be out in September.

Also, the TGTGG Rattle Off! 7" should be here next week.  More news when we have it...

UPDATE! Tara managed to bootleg a few pics from the movie, as well as capture some other sights from the wonderful afternoon in Sackville.

Thanks a bunch, TLW.

The new blogging system...

You may have noticed a few changes around here...thanks to our crack team of Megadan and Regadan, things are getting cleaned up and brought into the 21st century.

Replacing the cumbersome 'main page' is this new blog system.  Each band has the ability to post directly to the main page without relaying it through anyone else.  We're working out the kinks, so hold tight...

In the meantime, check out The Got To Get Got on tour.  Dates are available at their MySpace.  They played a rousing set at Gus' last night, and we wish them well! They have amazing merch as well, so check it out!

Tomorrow is the premiere of 6015, the amazing document of the Halifax indie scene.  Check it out at Sappyfest.  Besides the fact that watching great bands play on a huge screen is awesome, this documentary also features local heartthrobs The Medium Mood, The Got To Get Got, Tomcat Combat, VKNGS, The Memories Attack, and A History Of (not to mention North of America and The Holy Shroud, and Play Guitar, and Die Brucke, and....).  Word on the street is the official DVD release will be in the fall.

Speaking of fall releases, check the upcoming Coast Fall Music Preview issue for all of the dirt on what we've got planned.

Lastly, part 2 of the Noyes Records Live @ Soundmarket takes place on August 31st.  Tracks from both sessions and all bands will be used on a 'live' Noyes Records compilation disc.

Check back often!  We're on the move...
NR-011: KESTRELS - "Seaside" b/w "On Our Time" 7"

So, the band formerly known as the Brainiacs recorded some songs with Jon Dacey a few months ago, and these songs are finally off to get pressed in the Czech Republic (via San Francisco...figure that one out).  It will be a limited pressing on white vinyl, with artwork done by Nicole Legault (lookidrewyou.com).

The A side is called "Seaside", and the B side is called "On Our Time". With the vinyl, you get a free download of both vinyl tracks plus a bonus session track called "Houdini".  The perfect way to blow a kiss to another summer past.
The Memories Attack

Now that the new LP is done, it might be time to settle down and play some shows. Here's what's lined up so far:

August 2nd SAPPYFEST afternoon show at the Vogue w/ the Superfantastics, the Just Barelys, and the world premiere of the crucial and rad 6015 Willow documentary.

August 22nd Halifax's GUS' PUB Stolen Minks CD release also feat. Bloodsport and the Maynards.

August 29th SEAHORSE in lovely Halifax with Bloodsport and I think one more TBA.

That is all.
